2008-02-03 5:32 PM Quite Keen About It Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) After almost a year with my Vasque Sundowners, which were supposed to be the end-all and be-all of moderate day-hiking boots, I gave up. They always creased just where my big toe met my foot (PIP joint of toe #1, in kineseology terms), and the pressure against my ankle (on the dorsal nerve) was unrelenting. I greased them. I wore them for days on end, and all I could think of was that it should not be this hard to be comfortable in a hiking boot. Fact is, I do about one big overnight hike with a full pack each year. I don't need the big daddy $300 boots with every performance feature known to humankind. I just need to be comfortable.
So, I bought these boots. The minute I put them on, I was in heaven. And why wouldn't I be? The Keen sandals I own are the most ergonomically appropriate shoes I've ever put on my feet. These are my new babies, ready to get out on the trails for spring, summer and fall. I'm so relieved! Anyone want some barely used Vasque Sundowners, women's size 8? Srsly, let's deal.
