Port-au-Patois #4

In two weeks, I will shift northward about 20 feet, and move into Port-au-Patois #4.

Excited? You bet!

A little unsure how to move the heaviest and largest items, but I figure a few of my burlier friends can be bribed with food and free massages. Please, let a few of my burlier friends be bribed with food and free massages.

I've already mapped out where almost everything will go. I love making lists, and there is no better time than now to do that rather than, say, studying for my massage finals coming up this week. Right? Right! Say it with conviction!

Things I'm grateful for in this move:

• IKEA furniture that breaks down into easily-moved, little pieces.

• moving 20 feet instead of 20 miles.

• not having to rent a truck.

• my cats won't have to adjust to anything more than coming in the window rather than the door.

• I'm not leaving the Cove.

• I can be naked at will, because no one can see into this apartment, and I have a wall of windows that look over Puget Sound, huzzah!

• It will be easy to get house sitters should I get the gig at Doe Bay (audition on February 27th!).

Things that are a little (or a lot) sad:

• my cool neighbors are leaving.

• my back is already sore, so I will have to take it nice and slow.

• the new apartment is slightly more expensive.

• my neighbors are leaving, whaaa.

• I'll need to rustle up some helpers.

I'll put out the house sitter call when I confirm my summer plans. JSers who have always wanted a week on an island during the balmy Seattle summer, give a holler. We'll work something out, if all goes our way.
