Vashon Beach Apt Share Available Oct 1st
Apartment share on Vashon Island, $550 +utilities, available October 1, 2008
I need a roommate to share my two-bedroom apartment at the beach. I’m an interpreter, educator and massage therapist with a solid island connection and a deep love for the place in which I live. Not too woo-woo, not too serious, and not too solvent, hence the roommate situation.
The nitty gritty:
- Rent is $550 a month, plus ½ utilities: cable/wi-fi ~$30, electricity ~$15 to 30 depending on season
- Deposit is $250; $50 is a non-refundable cleaning deposit
- 6-month commitment appreciated
- There is a credit check (my landlady insists)
- No pets (I have two cats already)
- No smoking
Enticements:
- Waterfront living in a historic Vashon building situated 30 feet from Puget Sound
- Loft bedroom with private half bath
- Washer/drier in unit
- Cable TV and wi-fi
- TV, DVD and VHS players provided
- Hardwood floors
- Furnished if you need it to be, not furnished if you don’t
- 270-degree Westside view
- Beach access
- Water and garbage paid
- Fire pit and native garden area
This’ll probably work if you:
- are employed
- consider paying your rent/utilities on time to be a monthly financial priority
- have a sense of humor and centrist or left-leaning politics
- know when to enjoy your space, and when to be social
- do not play music selections that include hip-hop or rap
- appreciate and will maintain a tidy home (within reason)
- use alcohol and/or recreational substances temperately
- like cats and will treat them decently
It won’t work if you:
- are addicted to or are a daily user of alcohol or recreational drugs
- party a lot at home
- work graveyard
- are noisy – the walls are thin
- are an insomniac
- are not a social person
- don’t clean up your dishes, laundry, or person
- are a vocal Republican or a bigot (these two are not related, just on the same line)
- don’t have a sense of humor or irony
