SIX WORD STORIES
Ernest Hemingway is said to have written a six-word story and called it his best work: "For sale: baby shoes. Never used." SJ Rozan invites writers to submit six word crime stories here. To submit: Send your story to: SIXWORDSTORY@AOL.COM. Include your name and, if you want, your url. We won't post email addresses. Stories SJ finds appealing for whatever idiosyncratic reason will be posted here. Send titles if you like, but we here at Six Word Story HQ like that part and will probably title them ourselves. Maybe there'll be a prize beyond the wonder of seeing your story in electronic print; maybe not. We'll think about it. Meanwhile, we're waiting... |

2007-02-11 7:05 PM We're back! We here at Six Word Story, the only six-word crime writing contest on the web... that we know about... are back! In addition to the prizes we told you about before our hiatus (which always sounds to us like something you need to fix with surgery) -- you can see those prizes in the previous entry -- we have a year's subscription to the newsletter put out by The Poisoned Pen, the fabulous bookstore in Scottsdale, AZ. Now, as to how we'll decide who wins, well, that's part of the mystery. And it may even be a crime, by the time we're through. We're a little idiosyncratic over here at Six Word Story. But the most important thing is, WE WANT YOUR STORIES! Some of you have been prolific; the writer of today's winner may get a prize for quality AND quantity. But some of you are holding back. Why??? I mean, prizes, schmizes, how about the sheer glory of being published here? So send this link to every writer you know, and get to work!
Today's winner, to inspire you all: Pay the ransom. I loved her. Stephen D. Rogers www.stephendrogers.com Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
