I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us! |

2003-11-25 8:23 PM Dahlias Leffler says the lesson of the dahlias is to leave well enough alone. (Keith says it's to not let Rozan near your dahlias, which may be closer to the truth, but most people don't have to worry about that.) The question, though, is how to tell what's well enough. More and more I'm inclined to interfere with very very little, because I don't know what's well enough. About the dahlias, I thought: it might be good for the plant to have some blooms freeze. Maybe that's how it knows to stop and rest for the winter.
But if so, it's still waiting for that to happen. Now, to quote my buddy Reed: since this is the time of year for giving thanks, thanks. I appreciate you guys taking time for this blog, reading, commenting, whatever. Enjoy your families and your turkeys. (In the case of some, the two may be the same; enjoy them anyway.) Happy Thanksgiving, all. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
