me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Congrats on the award, and, as for catface, that's 11 mice you *know* about... You assume that if he caught any while you're away in parts unknown he'd just collect them and leave them (like trophies) on your pillow or something?

Okay, I've lost count.
Who has more trophies, now?
You or the cat?

Okay, wiseguys. First, he has more wins, but I have more trophies, because I throw the mice out, I don't stuff 'em. Second, he does catch them when I'm away, and invariably leaves them lying in state on the kitchen floor so I'll be sure to find them. I mean, hell, I don't write stuff and not send it out to be published. This is his art and the kitchen floor's his gallery, where he waits as anxiously as any of us for his reviews.
