Still, silent river.
Cruise ship looms, fills view, plows on.

New ducks, black-and-white,
Paddle around mallards' pier.
You guys: wait 'til spring!
Bundled mom, dad, kids,
Stroll past my bench. Dad looks back,
Worried. Thinks I'm nuts.
