I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us! |

2006-05-17 11:37 PM And a peregrine falcon! I forgot about him until JL reminded me! A young male peregrine falcon was perched on the flange of a beam on a bridge over the Hackensack River. The Palisades, farther north, have three nesting pairs (anyone remember Palisades Amusement Park?) but peregrines haven't nested in the Meadowlands for at least 60 years, says Capt. Sheehan. A young male spent most of last summer hanging out down there, and Capt. Sheehan thinks maybe this is the same one and he's contemplating nesting. He sure looked like he was contemplating something up there, though it was more likely a nice fish dinner.
