me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Sights on my morning run

Shell-pink stucco house, one of those relentless Caribbean colors, with wide shell-pink concrete driveway.

White cat sitting atop blue car, cat's belly and front legs blue from car's reflection.

Double house, white picket fence extending out from common wall to divide lawns. On one side: lantana, hibiscus, aloe, saw palmetto, morning glory, luxuriantly growing. On the other: urns and baskets of purple and pink petunias -- all plastic.

The Volusia County Sheriff, carrying a steaming sippy-cup and a doughnut, leaving his house down the street, on his way to work.

And my first pileated woodpecker.
