I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us! |

2007-01-08 10:58 AM Jock/Geek The blog entry that answers the question, Can you be a jock and a geek at the same time? It seems you can. I offer as evidence: I have a book just out, it's my nephew's birthday, the Democrats are back in power in Congress, and what am I most excited about? My new ankle braces! For a year and a half I've been wearing Aircasts when I play basketball. It's a good product but they don't make them small enough for me, which leads to two irritations: the material under my foot can bunch up; but worse, the ends of the velcro straps wind up on the insides of my ankles because of how tight I have to pull them. Then as I run they rub against each other and loosen each other, and suddenly I have no ankle support, and a flapping strap. It's a very big pain in the neck. So I went out and bought McDavids, which I used for the first time yesterday. Boy, do they work! I ran, I jumped, I shot, and I feel great. So if you have small feet and are looking for supports, I recommend these. And if a geek is someone who gets excited about technology, I guess I am one!
