Sky low, water gray,
Wind cold -- but trees indistinct
With spring's fuzz of buds.
Gray wooden benches
Damp dark brown at slats' edges
Last night's rain's not dry.
Cormorant flaps in
Settles on favorite piling
Which gulls leave for him.
