me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Fight Girl Battle World

Okay, I know I promised you Christie's, but we'll do that tomorrow, because I have to check the auction results first. But you do need to know about this. Especially any of you within hailing distance of NYC, because you need to go see it. FIGHT GIRL BATTLE WORLD is the new production of the Vampire Cowboys Theater Company. I blogged about an earlier show of theirs whenever it was I saw it, sometime last year. VCTC describes themselves as being "committed to building a community of artists who are soaked in the cultural bloodstream of the now." And boy, are they ever. The play's hilarious, but also touching, if you're the kind who can admit to ever having been touched by a comic book (I am and have). The acting's terrific, and the wonderful stage combat and minimal sets prove that special effects are for the weak. These guys are the real theater McCoy and you'll leave in a better mood than you got there in. I promise.
