I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us! |

2008-08-29 2:32 PM Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef I'll do politics later, after I've digested a little, but right now I want to direct your attention to the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef, on view at the Wintergarden in Battery Park City. If you're in NYC over the next few days, go see it. Apparently it's moving to Staten Island, though, so if you miss it you'll get another chance. And pieces of it are in London. And it travels, so if you're not around here, keep an eye out: it might come to a gallery near you. What is it? A coral reef made of hyperbolic crochet pieces. It's supposed to raise people's consciousness about the wonders of coral reefs and the dangers facing them in this polluted, globally-warming world. It does that; and it also raises consciousness about the wonders and possibilities of fiber art. You know, the stuff women do around the kitchen table. I'm a knitter, so I take this personally. Go girlz go!
