me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Almost politics

Politics starting next week, I promise. I've been away this week, running around, as an Italian friend of mine used to say, like a crazy. I'm still on the run and don't have time right now for a long entry but along with the politics next week I'll tell you about one place I went, because it was very cool. But I wanted to say, you guys seem to be very effective in whatever it was you did about Gustav. I've waited a few days for this entry because, if you recall, with Katrina, it wasn't the storm itself that did the damage, at least in New Orleans. All the headlines said New Orleans "breathed a sigh of relief" after the hurricane passed. The headlines said the same thing this time. And then, last time, the levees started to break. So I waited this time. But it doesn't seem to be happening. So good job, all you praying people and positive thinkers.
