me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

More winners, and the last contest

Okay, we're going to wrap this contest business up so you winners can all get to reading THE SHANGHAI MOON and we can all get back to panicking about the election.

Laraine absolutely hit it with her book choices for Bill and Lydia. She was so on the mark for both of them Contest Central is reproducing her entire answer:

"For starters, Lydia tried reading Bret Easton Ellis some years back, but decided he was too shallow. She secretly [did I say SECRETLY?] dips into chick-lit of the practical kind, not bodice-rippers, but light-hearted reads easily put down, for those nights when even the right tea doesn't help her shake off the tensions of the day. Even though Bill laughs at her for her sober determination to be informed, she reads books like The Tipping Point and Blink! when trying to relax by a pool. Bill has a well-thumbed Auden anthology at hand, and Lydia teases him about his Dashiell Hammett collection, which most recently includes the short stories in 'The Big Knockover.' He has read Charles Williams (few Americans have, sadly), and Orwell's essays."

I mean, Charles Williams? Go, Laraine!

And Justine gets a prize here, too, for bringing up Keith Snyder.

And Jane Cohen gets an honorable mention, for the piano scores and cookbooks.

So, Laraine and Justine, send me your mailing addresses, and the ARCs are on their way.

And now, in a nod to the season, our final contest: if Bill and Lydia were invited to a Halloween party, what would they go as?
