me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Cinco de Mayo

Rainy and gray here in NYC, but I suddenly remembered where I was last year on Cinco de Mayo: in Newark Airport, waiting for a plane to Hong Kong, watching a mariachi band drive by playing and singing on one of those little carts that get you from gate to gate. That was on my way to western China, to the Silk Road. I have a feeling I've logged as many miles on this endless fragmented book tour as I did on that trip. Now I'm beginning to wonder how to get back to Asia. Wish I had two nickels to rub together. Or a fellowship...
