Mist rises over
Thick brown earth of fresh-tilled fields
As sunshine strikes them.
Long day, good friend, bench,
Soft fog, damp path, quiet pause
For afternoon tea.
Spring in the country.
Calm peace everywhere, except
At the birdfeeder!
