Woodpecker and chick
Thumping in treetop. Annoyed,
Cardinal flies off.
Bright yellow warbler
Can't decide: shady maple,
Or sun-bathed locust?
Robin on birdbath,
Hoping for breakfast surprise,
Throws gold leaf aside.
