Diving cormorant
Disappears in glassy bay,
Comes up empty-beaked.
Gray gull sits on rail.
Second gull lands close beside.
Gull one: baleful glare.
Rusting steel dock creaks,
Squeaks in early morning fog.
Stoked cyclist speeds past.
