I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us! |

Never Get a Bad Gift Again Dreading another Christmas season full of carefully gift-wrapped coffee mugs and tacky ties? Now you don't have to, as long as you can convince your most tasteless friends and relatives to do their stocking stuffing on Amazon. Reuters etiquette expert Mary Mitchell is horrified to report that Amazon has developed a technology that will allow you to covertly convert your loved ones' awful gifts into Amazon gift cards. Just sign up for the service and create a list of people from whom you would rather not receive actual gifts. If one of those sorry Santas tries to send you something through Amazon, the site will decline to actually ship the order and just send you a gift card for the amount the gift-giver would have spent. The program will even automatically generate a thank-you e-mail for the gift you won't be getting, and he or she won't be any the wiser. Merry Christmas.
