Miami last weekend, part 1
Hope to have a real Miami report for youse soon -- life has been tripping me up, youse know how it is -- but meanwhile did manage to upload a few photos.
It was raining the afternoon I checked into my hotel.
Finally the rain let up, though the wind didn't, so I went for a walk.
Then it rained again and I got soaked.
The next morning was gorgeous, though.
I hung out with the urban pelicans.
This huge bird statue is on the Miami-Dade campus, where the Book Fair was.
Didn't want to disturb this guy; he was pretty satisfied with his life that day.
The big one looked like he might have been the lifeguard.
Strolled through a state park.
Saw a huge web and a damn huge spider.
Big night sky, my last night.
