Gray tangled cloud bank
Moves swiftly north, revealing
Smooth blue empty sky.
On wide debris field
Two gulls, eyes on each other,
Pecking for breakfast.
Near-windless morning.
One leaf, in just the wrong place,
Shaking. Others still.
