me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Spring is springing

Snowdrops and crocuses were already popping up all over the place, and yesterday's bright sunny warmth brought the daffodils out, too. Cold this morning, though, with a sharp wind off the river. None of the flowers seem too discouraged, and they have no reason to be, from what I read in the weather report. We never really had winter this year in NYC and now it seems to be seriously spring. In the center of the renovated park up the block there's a mound of grass (which the pigeons love to sleep on, but that's another story). Last year the whole thing was planted with purple crocuses, and they're up again now, dotting the green. I wish they photographed well, but I keep trying and I haven't been able to figure out how to pull that picture off yet.
