Oh good Lord. I've managed to wedge myself down in the florida panhandle between Frances and Ivan. Fortunately for me they now expect it to make landfall on Thursday, which means I can still flyout as planned. Unfortunately, it means my folks are in for it, also, since it's lateral speed is slowing down, the hurricane is actually picking up strength. Ack. Anyway, so my folks have their water set aside and batteries. I told my mom this morning that it would be good for me to leave so I don't though off their food-to-person ratio. :) Usually they are in a good location, being on higher ground and not on the Lido or keys. Smart folks. But it does feel a bit like I'm jumping a sinking ship, making me a bit of a rat.

We had a good visit so far, my folks ran away for their anniversary and Nana and I ruled the roost. They were up in AL I think for a handbell workshop/concert. Really pretty neat. I was also able to cook for my family for the first time in a long while. Simple meat in pot kind of recipe, but everyone was so happy not to have to cook after rushing home at 4:30 am. Bleh

In other news, we leave PA in less then 7 days. (eek!)
