Saturday. The middle of my three day weekend. Scratch that--four day weekend. I have a dr. appt. on Monday so I won't be working that day. The appointment is in the morning (8 AM I think) so that means only a half a day will be lost.
This morning I did some once-in-a-blue-moon type of cleaning. I have a 2' x 3' hooked hanging on one wall in the den. It's the moon shining through pine trees--very much like what I can see from my yard. At any rate, I noticed that it had visible dust on it. So I gently took it down and tumbled it in the dryer for about ten minutes. What a difference. While it was down I took the dry mop and dusted all the walls in the area. I finished reading Eric Mayer's Four for a Boy this afternoon. The next book on my casual reading list is another Sister Fidelma (sp?) mystery. The stumpy cat came by this morning. Lady gave a loud grrr-howl at it, then ignored it. The big attraction in the yard is the critter food-laden tree stumps. Lots of interesting things to watch there. On my way home this afternoon I actually remembered to stop and buy a Powerball ticket. When I shopped at a supermarket that also sold lottery tickets I usually got one once a week. I think the most I ever won was about $5. We have an election coming up Tuesday. Normally, Louisiana elections are on Saturdays, but this one is for national offices. Polls are open from 6 AM to 8 PM. I just may end up working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week. I really don't want to be voting when there are crowds of working people--and long lines. And that's it for today. Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
