Ho Hum

It's a ho hum day when there are no traffic snarls, especially considering last week.

Thank goodness.

There's a new McDonald's being built (in New Orleans) where Katrina trashed the earlier one. This one is actually looking not half bad. Although the tall sign still has the classic "golden arches" the building itself is a pretty brick, with a sort-of classic roof line, and what I'm calling yellow arcs running the width. A much more subtle version of the arches.

My two favorite bumpers stickers spotted in New Orleans are "New Orleans--make levees not war" and "Swim Home to New Orleans."

Well, plans are underway for this Saturday's football game. The game starts at 7, but from about 4 PM on there will be a music fest outside of the Dome, just like the one for the reopening back in September. Game ticket prices are as high as $4000--but I'm sure that's for a prime location box. Heaven only knows how they are on e-Bay.

Technically, the tickets on e-Bay are virutally free--but the t-shirt that goes with them is anywhere from $1K up. The t-shirt keeps it legal--the tickets are NOT being sold above their printed price.

I'm glad I've got good upper body strength--I have no problems wrestling some of the boxes down from shelves a bit above my head. (And not dropping them!) I think I'm beginning to see daylight on this particular job. I've checked out and labelled 53 boxes of memorabilila so far. Today's treasure hunt yielded a Zip drive disk with a bunch of information on it. I hope the information is on hard copy somewhere because I doubt if there is a computer at the Center that even knows what a Zip drive is!

Tomorrow morning I MUST remember to finish collecting the trash and then get it to the curb before I leave for work. At least there's no rain in the forecast.

And yes--a ho-hum day is an IUD.
