The championship game will be played at Chicago. The Seahawks were not able to defeat the Chicago Bears, and since the Bears' record was better than the Saints' record, they get to host the championship game.

The good news is that the NBC sportscasters seemed to think that the Saints have a chance of defeating Chicago.

So, the money I paid for the championship tickets goes to my account to pay for (some of) next season's tickets.

I did some grocery shopping in the morning, gassed up the car for the coming week (at $1.999/gal.) then spent the rest of the day as a slug. The Seattle/Chicago game started at noon, and when it was over a channel change brought me the San Diego/New England game. I'm rooting for San Diego on this one--we lived there a year and a half back in the late fifties.

Other than grocery shopping and providing body heat to cats, I haven't done much today.

And tomorrow's a holiday. It occurred to me that if Martin Luther King had not said and done what he did when he did, I might not have my wonderful grandson. Thank you Martin.
