My Incredibly Unremarkable Life

Today may take the prize for totally blah days.

Did the grocery shopping in the morning. Decided that, since I don't go into N.O. again till Wednesday, I didn't need to stand in really chilly breezes filling up my gas tank.

Maybe tomorrow I'll go get my oil changed and car washed (it's the same place.) I'm about to start a new book--just haven't figured out which one. I started one, but I had a cat on me and fell asleep. Therefore, I don't remember what I read, but if it had been a really interesting one I wouldn't have fallen asleep. Probably. But I definitely need to take a book along. The last time I did this it took about two hours--they were really really shorthanded.

On my official Word-a-Day calendar today's word is terpsichorean. There's a street in New Orleans named Terpsichore. Also Clio, Erato, and the rest of the nine Muses. They have acquired pronunciations unique to the city. Calliope is kal-ee-OPE. However, the thing they play on the riverboats is a ka-LI-oh-pee.

It's pretty bad when the most exciting thing you can look forward to doing is taking your to get its oil changed.
