Yep--another day filled with excitement and miscellaneous activities

NOT--unless you think grocery shopping and weeding a yard are exciting.

Slept a little later than I usually do on a non-work day, but I still made it to WalMart before it got really crowded. I guess now that football season is over there isn't that rush to get beer and munchies before the noon kickoff. And football season was barely over when Sunday Mardi Gras parades began. Come to think of it--the last area parade was today. It's the annual Mardi Paws parade on the North Shore (my hangout) to support the St. Tammany Humane Society. I've never been, but apparently it's quite successful.

After making groceries I filled up the gas tank. Gas was more than 10 cents a gallon more than last week.

Returned home, read the Sunday paper, then decided to do something useful and went out to continue my vendetta against the weeds in the off-side yard. I filled up another trash can full of the stuff, moshed it down with the handle end of my cane, then added more. It got dumped into the swimming pool.

I now have an area where there used to be a couple of trees where I think I'll plant an azalea or two. There's some nice soil there, courtesy of my neighbor, so whatever I plant should do okay. One more session of weeding and it will be ready. I'll see if the year-old caladium bulbs will make a border.

It's worth the effort of actually pulling up the tall sticky-seed weeds, rather than just mowing them down. My "front" lawn (on the side) has no new weeds since my I pulled up thhe ones there.

Washed my hair after the yard work, and did a load of laundry. I'm planning on staying home tomorrow and putting Oil Change for Escape at the top of the list. I think they open at nine. If I have time after that, I may try to get my feet done.

So, I guess today hasn't been a total waste, and I picked the wrong title.

So what. The only people I've talked to today have been WalMart staff. The title stays.
