It's feeling downright springlike--and it will probably stay that way for a while, if I can believe the weather-guessers. It's warm enough that I turned my office AC on to "cool" for a while. Not a long while--it's back on "fan only" for now.

And I must have been pretty enthusiastic in my weeding and de-dewberrying yesterday. I ache in the hips from being bent over. But, when I look at that part of the yard I can see where I'd been working.

I've almost finished The Diary of a Political Idiot - Normal Life in Belgrade. Parts of it remind me of stories told by Londoners about the Blitz--practically living in the Underground, sending their children to the country for the duration.

And I heard on the evening news that insurance companies have racked up record profits. How could they NOT, when they have raised rates and really dilly-dallied on playing claims.

Maybe my next read will be a Beatrix Potter mystery by one-time Newcomb dean Susan Wittig Albert. Her China Bayles (the herbalist) mysteries are quite good. I'll be interested to see whether the Potter ones are YA, at the very least.
