It's July, it's hot, and (with luck) a late shower will cool it off somewhat, although it will also raise the humidity. And so the color scheme currently reflects the sun and tans.

It was definitely an IUD. I slept till almost 8 AM, which meant I didn't get going on the weekly WalMart trip till after 9 AM. Normally, my goal is to finish the shopping just after 9, because that's when the gas station opens. But I got off the regular routine with the doctor appointments.

After I got back home I had a bite to eat, then ended up finishing Joan Hess' Damsels in Distress. The background to this one is a Renaissance Fair that comes to the small college town. It was a satisfying piece of mind candy. And I shall tag this book and relase it the next time I'm at PJ's.

That probably won't be till next weekend. Tomorrow I work, Tuesday I get the back injection, Wednesday is a holiday, and then I work Thursday and Friday.

Lady has taken to draping herself across the top of the fridge. That means that I can't get to the freezer unless I disturb her.

Has Slidell made the newspapers outside of this area? The City Judge of Slidell is going up against the ACLU. It seems that the city has a picture of Jesus prominently posted in the courts building, along with something about laws. Perhaps they should even things out with a picture of the Buddha (and an appropriate quote), not to mention some quotes from the Qur'an.

Ah well--it's a break in the summer doldrums. And a lot better than the meteorological break we had in 2005.
