You can tell the neighborhood kids have just about all grown up--there is no longer a steady racket of fireworks being "tested" in the week before the Fourth.

Tomorrow, however, I fully expect to hear an evening celebration.

I am sitting here with my back feeling a ton better. I think of them as Dr. B's magic needles. Let's hope this lasts as long as the previous treatment. (It's steroid injections--not acupuncture.)

Since I let my body have a nap when I got back home, not too much has been accomplished today. I have been reading Relic and it is rapidly becoming an edge-of-the-chair thing. What is loose in the sub-basement of the Museum of Natural History that is killing people in a really really gross manner? I had the book with me as I waited (on the stretcher) for my turn in the radiology room, and when my turn came I was about to say "just let me finish this page pleeeease."

YD was my "taxi" today and it was nice to have a few minutes for chit-chat. And it is extremely handy that she works just about across the street from the hospital.

After my nap I did my "useful thing" of the day and dumped a week's worth of newspapers into the pool. (also some weeds) I saw no sign of the frog or turtle (or was it a snake?) that the boys said they saw.

We've had some showers this afternoon, and the sky sure looks like there will be some more. At the moment, my plans for tomorrow include yard work before it gets really hot. If PJ's is open, I'll go there in the afternoon. Otherwise, I suspect Arby's will be my source for OPAC.
