I suspect that a grammar nut would say "more easily" instead, but I don't care. Just so long as Dean continues heading almost due west.

Today was a constructive day at work, and I feel like I may eventually see daylight with Susanne's files and memorabilia.

I also ended up watching part of a video about the Women's Movement in Louisiana. A scholar was going over videotapes and I kept hearing familiar names. We made similar snide remarks about some of the political figures.

But mostly I was sorting out all the various workshops Susanne had conducted.

There were workshops with spiritual aspects--most of which focused on the goddess. There was a script for a ceremony celebrating becoming a crone. And one for becoming a woman (in the physical sense.) All the material is interesting.

Work continued on covering all the bookshelves with visquine. I commented that that would not do too much good if the building got 17" inches of water in it--like it did with Katrina. The maintenance man agreed, but said the current project was to keep the insurance company happy.

Classes at Tulane begin August 29. The marching band was out marching this morning and I'm sure the football team is busy practising. I think they've got a new coach, but I don't pay very much attention to Tulane football. I doubt they will ever get to a major bowl game.

When I was at Cornell they prided themselves on being an educational institution first. They did not give athletic scholarships, although the fact that a good scholar was also a fairly decent athlete definitely worked in the guy's favor. They did not have spring practice, nor did they participate in post-season bowl games.

I have no idea if the same holds true now.

There's a ton of stuff around the house and yard that need doing tomorrow, and I am trying to pump up my enthusiasm for getting soaked with sweat, including (and especially) hair. Therefore I must get an early start.

At least there's no worry about Dean.
