No call, as yet, from school X. There's still tomorrow, but it sounds like they didn't get enough registrants to call for opening a new section.

Oh well--it's not like there will be nothing to do--I cannot see the Center EVER running out of unprocessed archival material.

The angle of the sun is currently such that it shines directly into my left eye. I need to put up some more pictures to cover those areas of the windows that let that happen.

The other day I bought a book of "stained glass" mandalas that you color yourself. I also bought a package of 8 vari-colored felt tip pens. I've started working on the mandalas and when I am done I shall add them to the window to change the sunbeam into a multi-colored beam. The librarian said that sounded pretty cool.

I realized today that I have GOT to leave about 30 minutes earlier for work if I don't want to have to walk three blocks or more. Next week will probably be awful as parents bring their little darlings with all their tons of stuff to be unloaded. And the parents will no doubt park in areas that are for faculty and staff only. Classes at Newcomb/Tulane start at the end of next week.

Another hot day with no cooling afternoon downpours--or even showers.

My current reading--partly geek, partly for pleasure--is The Woman In the Surgeon's Body, by anthropologist Joan Cassell. I'm finding it interesting, what with my gender research etc. Of course, her citations have led me to mark several more books I'd like to obtain.

This book was given to me by a woman who was eating lunch in the Center lobby. We got talking, and it turns out that she works at the Medical Center/School. We talked some more, and the next day she brought me this book and gave it to me.

Tomorrow is an at-home day, and I already have nine items on the ought-to list. I need to add a couple like "eat breakfast" and "take a coffee break" so that I can be sure of crossing off something on the list.
