I spent this morning trying to finish up the current Erich Spindler book. Once I got started I really couldn't stop until the end. She does NOT telegraph who the baddie is.

That took me till a bit after noon. How can I "rationalize" that time? Hmm. It gave me extra time with the heating pad to ease out my assorted aches and pains!! Can't argue with that one.

After a bite to eat I headed to PJ's with the exams from last Wednesday to finish grading. Gloom!!! Very poor preparation on the students' part. Rather--on the part of the 50% of the class who had not cut out early for the (supposedly) two day mid-term break.

And I let the class members decide whether they wanted the exam last Wednesday or this coming Monday. I wonder how many will miss on Monday - - - -

I have to post mid-term grades by the 16th. That's Tuesday. There will be some unhappy students (and parents).

The only grading I'm currently behind in now is their paperlets. I'll get that done tomorrow, and calculate grades Monday. I'll probably have to call someone to find out how to access Banner (the all-purpose grade-posting) program from my home computer. I am still trying to remember passwords for all the various University sites.

Tomorrow's Saints game is in the evening. Good--I won't be distracted during the afternoon. It would sure be nice if they won.

Weather is cooling down enough that I am using an afghan at night--and usually at least one cat.

I haven't yet decided which bit of mind candy I'll read next. I have in the to-read pile the third Lilith Saintcrow demon mystery, the latest Erica Spindler, a couple more mysteries, and a big stack of Analog and Asimov's magazines. And then there are the "geek" books . . . .

So tomorrow looks to be about as exciting as today has been. But I should be able to get completely caught up on the grading AND the midterm grade calculations.

Another Saturday bites the dust.
