MLK is about as late as it can get this year. I was made aware of its date when I said "see you Monday" as I left work. The librarian reminded me that the school would be closed. Okay with me, as long as it doesn't rain or get frigid--those meteorological conditions definitely discourage any sort of yard activity.

On the other hand, that kind of weather is good for reading.

I was underwhelmed by the Shrub's latest "idea" to help the economy--a "tax rebate" to stimulate more buying.

Hello--isn't a large part of the problem the increasingly large debt load so many people are carrying? And the last time there was "rebate" the papers and airwaves were quickly filled with ways to spend it--such as a down payment on some goodie. Just what's needed--increase the debt load. But buying will help big business, who gives lots of money to political campaigns.

(I'm becoming cynical in my old age.)

At any ratae, I don't think tonight will be a late one. I'm not so deeply engrossed in a book that I will stay up late reading. At this point, I'll be lucky if I make it to the 10PM news without having a "sinking spell."

As usual, plenty to do on the weekend, even with it being three days long. I just need to gather the energy to do it. But I don't need to gather energy till tomorrow.
