How's that for an imaginative title?
I got a bit of laundry and general picking up done. Then somehow I dozed off for a bit--guess I was too comfy watching TV. No, it wasn't cartoons--I was watching the approach and docking of the Shuttle. Live. It's not just the aerospace effort, it's also seeing it live on TV. It's carried on a local education channel and it probably gets a modest viewership, since this area is where the big fuel tank is manufactured, and just over the line in Mississippi is where they test all the shuttle engines. And, the missile and space programs have been an integral part of my entire adult life. I finally got myself to get going on something constructive and did some laundry. After I put it in the dryer I loaded up my books and headed for PJ's, where I got totally absorbed in Kyra. That is one excellent book, and I should be finished reading by tomorrow evening at the latest. Today was the primary election for U.S. president. I forgot about it completely until I'd already gotten home. The race in the party in which I am registered is quite close, but I like both the candidates. We have another election coming up within a month for the primaries for a replacement representative to the U. S. House. (The previous one is now governor.) I'm not sure if there's competition in the party in which I am registered. The presidential stuff has pretty much taken up all the advertising $$$. The cat that is probably Emma showed up at mealtime again. She rubbed and purred, and even gave a bit of thought to coming inside. Too much dry food spilled out of the bag onto the top step, just as happened last night. The leftovers disappeared about the time the raccoons/possums came for their evening snacks. I have no doubts that the raccoons are bold enough to come up on the step and will do so again this evening. I think (the cat who is probaby) Emma also cadged food from my neighbor. We sort of agreed to keep food out for her so she'll stay here. This neighbor has something like eight cats. And a dog or maybe two. Just another typical IUD for me.
