Yes, Lady (I assume) has been at it again. I though I had cleared all of the dead lizards from the house--at least those in areas where I might step on one with my bare feet.

Last night I looked over by the TV and there was a small frog looking at me. I decided I'd ignore it, since I probably couldn't catch it anyway.

This afternoon I found yet another dead lizard in the middle of my "path" from the kitchen to the front porch. I managed to avoid stepping on it and wrote myself a mental note to toss it outside before I forgot about it and walked on it barefoot.

No sign of the frog. At first.

Then I saw Lady paying a great deal of attention to something in the hall. The frog, as of ten minutes ago, is still alive and hoppy.

hooray. :(

They are STILL working on the ventilation system (or something like that) at work. I wonder if they will ever finish.

Today they carefully unrolled the plastic covers on the stacks. I don't know why. I don't think they're doing anything with the potential for dirtying up the place. As it now stands, if you want to look for a book or journal, you have to duck under the draped sheets of plastic.

I got there before 8 AM today, and the guys were sort of hanging around waiting for someone to unlock the door. They know which car is mine, and that I have a key--and an alarm code.

Driving home this afternoon was a bit of an adventure. About halfway there we all ran into a torrential downpour. It was raining so hard that at one point the road speed was about 25 mph. The speed limit is 60 on that stretch and the "usual" speed is 70+. There was one total jackass in front of me who didn't know/remember/think that there is a law that says lights must be on when your wipers are on. He had a white car and it was almost invisible.

Luckily, we were out of the downpour fairly quickly.

And a nice thing happened on the trip home--I held back enough for a car to return to the road from the shoulder--and the driver gave me a huge wave of thanks. I always give the guy I've cut off who lets me in a big wave, but not many people do that.

So--there is a frog in the house--probably still alive. May he(?) eat many flying bugs. I need to put out food for the possums and raccoons. Tonight they get two apple cores, as well as the cheap dog biscuits. Emma came around at supper time, but I didn't see TomTom. Lady was sitting on the top rail of the fence waiting for me this afternoon.

Now to check the weather radar agin--it's darker than it should be for this hour.
