Today was yard work day and I can actually see progress.
As I sat pulling weeds and trimming back an overenthusiastic wild cherry tree, I spotted what I thought was TomTom. However, this one had only a stump of a tail. Therefore, his name is Bob. He also had on a flea collar, so he might have been "bobbed." Talk about protective coloration--when he settled down in the leaves he disappeared. Last night I looked out and saw what appeared to be a skinny snake draped over the edge of the partly open ice chest. (That's the one where I put dog biscuits.) Upon closer examination (still from the window) I concluded that it belonged to a possum who figured it was easier to crawl into the ice chest than to dig the dog biscuits out. It's a good thing my next door neighbors are also nutty about animals. They must have both been at work today--Emma came to supervise my weeding. Still reading the Cynthia Eller book discussing whether prehistory was matriarchal. It's extremely interesting. I do the "geek" reading mostly at the coffee shop, and today I celebrated the warmer weather by having iced coffee instead of hot. Tomorrow's a work day again. This morning there was significant fog at my "usual" commuting time, but I'd already decided to make it an at-home day. Let's hope there's not a fog repeat tomorrow morning.
