I don't feel like I've accomplished anything--but I have.

I typed up one inventory and e-mailed it to the archivist.

I went to give blood, but it wasn't quite red enough--a common problem. The nurses/phlebotomists passed along all sorts of tips. I was only one point off, so I'll follow their advice and try again next week.

Next on the "list" was hunting for a replacement foam handle cover for my black cane. It's got a split in it. I haven't found any at Walgreen's or WalMart, so I figured I'd stop at the prosthetics place in town. I had to check the map to find the street--and since I've lived here 32 plus 4 years I hardly ever need the map. They don't carry that stuff, but they sympathized and were quite pleasant. I thanked them profusely and told them I hoped I wouldn't have to see them for their products, and that the cane handle cover would be the worst of my orthpedic needs.

Next (and final) stop was Walgreen's for raisins, cheap dog biscuits, and WD-40. While there I remembered I was on the last roll of the white paper, so I got some more of that too.

I ended up reading most of the afternoon--Harry Turtledove's new book set way back during an ice age.

When I finally got back home I found two books in the mail. One was related to the gender-development I've been researching and the other is about the impact humanity has had on the ecosystem. I'm not sure whether I bought it for that or for the exploration of happenings "way way back." It looks quite good, however.

It's raining now, and will probably continue doing so for the evening. North of here by the Mississippi border there's a tornado watch.

Tomorrow should be better, and I'll get back at the yard stuff.
