There was one in my e-mail box.

Very interesting--it said I was due a refund of about $189, and gave a link to a site for claiming the refund.

I thought it pretty funny that I was getting a refund, since I have not yet filed for 2007.

And it was--I clicked on the link and got a big red warning that it was a notorious phishing site.

Never a dull moment in internetland. One must be constantly alert. (I wonder how many people ignore the warning and offer up their bank account numbers etc.)

Other than that, the day was rather blah. The tree man cancelled because of last Saturday's rain. His bobcat does terrible things to soggy ground, and the trees in question are 300-350 ft. from the road. We crossed fingers and rescheduled for Wednesday.

I discovered some of the caladium bulbs I planted have begun to sprout. I hope they all do. These are this year's bulbs--not something I didn't get around to planting last year (like all the flower seeds.)

About a year ago I bought a couple of solar-powered garden lights at Big Lots for $8 for the pair. Today I finally got around to setting one of them up. That's how I discovered the caladiums. I won't know for several hours if they (the lights) are okay.

Tomorrow I get another injection for the back stuff. This time it's in the early afternoon, as have been all but the most recent. That one was at 8 AM. YD will be my transport.

It is really interesting watching the raccoons. They almost dance around, sometimes on just their hind legs, as they scope out the food situation. They use their front paws like hands to grasp tidbits. I suspect that they moved a dish with cat kibble down one step--without spilling any.

And on the subject of wildlife--I spotted a small turtle in the pool! I wonder if there has been some type of reproductive activity between the two big ones. On the other hand, maybe it got in there on its own.

So much for trivia. Time to get back to the Turtledove book.
