I cleaned my vacuum this morning, and extracted enough hair to cover at least seventeen cats. I won't say my three shed a lot, or that I am more than a bit lax about emptying the vacuum. Draw your own conclusions and don't be judgemental.

About an hour ago I got tired of dust being blown at me, so I cleaned the den fan. That wasn't really much of a big deal--I clean the fans more than I empty the vacuum bag. I've got several more to clean, and one which may have given up. When I've got all the fans inventoried as to operating condition I'll list the ones that don't work on FreeCycle. They can probably be made to work again--my late husband could get them through at least three (fan) lifetimes.

Yes, as Chaucer (I think) put it: "summer is a-comin' in."

I finished the Harry Turtledove book Beyond the Gap. And I shall be ordering the next one this evening. This is quite obviously the start of a multi-book series.

Just what I need--the latest novel featuring Sookie Stackhouse arrived the other day, and there are several geek books high on my want-to-read list.

Having an author for a daughter has increased my book purchases--"to support the industry" or something like that.

Time now to put out some food for the raccoons and possum.
