It's amazing what sleeping till 8 AM will do when you've stayed up reading till midnight the night before.

Not only did I manage 8 whole hours, but I woke up with all sorts of disgusting energy and put in more than two hours this morning with outside work!

I used the weed whacker to get the various weeds in the front (side) "lawn" down to the same height. Then I planted some more caladium bulbs. I finished things off with the set-up of the second solar garden light.

And, I got most of the accumlated yard trash and newspapers dumped in the "retention pond." I spotted only one turtle, but that's not unusual.

After a bit of lunch, I picked up my mail and headed to PJ's. One item in the mail was a book by Sara Pomeroy about a murder. Pomeroy is an authority on women in the Greek and Roman world and I've read other things by her. This one looks extremely promising as she goes through the chronology of the woman's life.

Short break while Fabian was interred--and my neighbors and I had a bit of a visit. They (he) did the digging. And, wonder of wonders, he didn't find any major root systems! That's a frequent problem in a woodsy area.

I gave them a pair of solar yard lights as a thank you. I really like mine, and the woman was, in fact, admiring them as we watched her husband dig.

Last week they had to have their elderly German Shepherd put down. He's now deep in their back yard. (Our lots are 440 ft. deep.)

I'm not sure how I ran across the Pomeroy book--I suspect it was one of those little notes from Amazon--"based on your recent purchases you might be interested in this."

At any rate, I guess I can't really call this an IUD.
