The part arrived a bit after noon, and the auto guy called shortly thereafter.
I headed over there, he got in and I drove back home, then he took the car back to his shop. He's about two miles from where I live. Unless there is some absolute, complete disaster, I'll have it back tomorrow afternoon. I'd looked up "rack and pinion" on the internet so I'd have an idea of what I was getting. I asked him about the connection between the power steering fluid loss and the rack and pinion, and it seems the key word is seals--on the rack and pinion. Okay--makes sense. So far I am impressed by him. He's relatively young (kids are pre-teens) and probably in debt to his eyeballs from going solo and buying the business. So, most of my day was spent at home doing not very much remarkable. CC didn't show her face till about noon--guess the hunting in the woods was good last night. The lettuce I'd tossed out (from the Edible Bouquet) has almost disappeared. It was out there several days before some critters discovered it. For a while I thought it would end up just as mulch. Obviously, no OPAC today. But it was fairly pleasant, and the room with the computer has a window unit. I was expecting rain a bit ago, based on the sky noises, but it either hasn't gotten here or isn't coming after all. I'll have to check the radar again. And then get started on another book.
