One look at that title and you are probably figuring "another IUD."
You're right. With a difference, though. I talked with the insurance guy and I shall be getting my new windshield tomorrow morning. At my house. Insurance Guy did check that I had a sheltered place in case it rains--I do. However, it's summer so it's highly unlikely to rain in the morning. I called work and told them I'd be in Thursday instead of tomorrow and why. I talked with the student worker and they'd all heard about my windshield. (And I'm betting it goes beyond there.) My insurance guy reminded me that there's a $50 deductible. Heck, it's worth that to me to have it taken care of at home! Tomorrow. (FYI, I'm insured by the lizard, and have been since 1960.) Once that bit of business was done, I headed for my usual OPAC place and got some serious reading, as well as mind candy reading, done. I had dropped off a prescription and needed to wait till after 4 PM to pick it up. I also discovered that the Walgreens I patronize is getting ready to open a walk-in clinic at the back of the store. I wonder if it will be a 24 hour, like the drugstore. Probably not. My current mind candy book is the second by Priscilla Royal in her series about a religious order in 13th century (CE) England. This one takes place at a location near the border with Wales. And I can visualize the terrain, thanks to a 2001 trip with YD. Title is Tyrant of the Mind. (And I just now ordered the next two. Gee, does it sound like I like this woman's writing?) Tomorrow (obviously) will be another at-home day. I'll need to be ready for the window people as early as 8 AM, and if I am first on their list I'll have time to do some (expletive) yard work. At the moment, I can't think of an excuse to procrastinate. (Maybe I'll think of one later . . . ) I checked the TV schedule and tonight is another yuck-night, as far as I'm concerned. But so what--I've got a great book, and I can stay up till I finish with minimum guilt, since I won't be leaving for work at 0630. And--anyone able to tell me when a door is not a door? (This is a real oldie, and a groaner.) Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
