I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted, but I did get my new weed-whacker put together. One of the two batteries is now charging, so tomorrow morning I should be out there whacking the weeds and other green stuff.
Having two batteries should come in handy when I'm in the mood to do a lot. If I plan things right there will always be a charged one waiting for me. The various ads that came with the weed-whacker have a couple of intriguing items that might be handy for trimming bushes and low trees. I'll have to check into those. Anyway, since I couldn't start trimming until a battery was charged, I took a nap and woke up to the sound of rain. It didn't last very long, but it did cool things down a bit. I headed for WalMart and my timing was perfect--most people were leaving and I got a motorized cart. This store "renovation" has apparently included new electric carts. Only one problem--the others had smooth vinyl seats and these have a textured vinyl. And it is VERY hard to slide on that. But the cart itself is quite peppy and steers easily. This morning I discovered a robot contest on the NASA/educational channel. There were two teams with several robots each engaged in some sort of game that used very large balls. I gathered that one could score by knocking an opponents ball off a high track. I think that getting one's own ball up and over also merited a score. The teams were from a variety of colleges. It was surprisingly interesting to watch. I'm hoping that I can get a bunch of yard stuff done tomorrow before it gets too hot. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
