Aside from the fact that I was at a good stopping point, I left for work on the early side because of impending heavy rain.
It was raining when I got to work a bit after 7 AM--enough that I was juggling my book bag (aka purse), lunch, cane, AND umbrella. And because it was early I had to somehow juggle even more to unlock the front door. It rained off and on most of the day. I made it to my car between showers, but I had rain most of the way home. I parked somewhat cattywampus so that the car door was only about two steps from the patio cover. That didn't bother me particularly, because on the way home I let myself be enticed by the thoughts of Popeye's fried chicken. There was no line, so I bought a two-piece dinner and headed the rest of the way home. Naturally, it began to rain again as I got close to the house. I managed to get the mail and paper (while juggling an umbrella) and I took my laptop in to work so that I could type up the inventory on it and not have to use a computer at the library desk. However, I postponed bringing it into the building, so I didn't have to juggle that along with everything else when I left. I got all of the inventory lists written up and will type them here at home, e-mail them to the archivist, and take hard copies in with me on Monday. The archivist showed me a couple more collections, so I won't be wondering if there is anything more to do. There is. Plenty. If any miscellaneous critters came--or were brought--into the house today, they left no obvious trace. Whether or not I do yard work tomorrow is up to the weather witch. I will never catch up on everything that needs doing, but I'd like to get to the point where I can at least stay even for a week or so. I'll just have to see what happens weatherwise tomorrow. My bet is at least some rain. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
