Amazon makes it so easy. Their computer keeps track of my (widely varied) reading, and is always anxious to make suggestions.

And, just like my inability to walk past a store display, I take a moment to check out some of the books either by authors I like or on favorite topics.

Without those "reminders" I would never have found what sounds like a very promising book--Societies Without Fathers or Husbands.

And I wouldn't have discovered that book 5 in Priscilla Royals' series is just about ready for release and can be preordered.

I just checked the weather radar and you can see Fay's circulation gradually moving west. hooray :( We will no doubt be having at least some rain by tomorrow evening. At least the winds are below hurricane force and, in fact, in the lower range of gale force.

I think it's next week that the totally pointless party nominating conventions will take place. Please please please--if there is a deity do NOT have all the networks covering them.

I'd better make sure I have plenty of reading material on hand. (That's a stupid statement--I have at least eight mind candy books and twice that number of geek books just waiting for my eyes.)

Yesterday evening I was reading/watching TV when I heard the sound of cat chow being eaten. Whoever was eating was going at it very steadily. On a hunch I got up quietly and yes--it was Pogo. He(?) didn't even pause to look up at me. I keep my distance, but he has definitely learned where he can eat without being hassled by raccoons. As I said before, the cats don't seem to care or be the least bit bothered.

My big TV question for this evening will be Olympics or pro football? Probably the former, with regular checks on the latter.

But either/both will be accompanied by reading--gotta keep up with my orders.
