2008-09-08 6:26 PM Watch Out Texas! Read/Post Comments (4) |
Ike appears to be headed your way.
I guess it's your turn--Florida got blasted by Fay, New Orleans got Gustav, so now it's Texas' turn. Of course, it's not done chewing up Cuba, but as we all (here in Louisiana) sit with both our fingers and toes crossed, it seems to aiming for Texas. (How far inland is Crawford?) It's very easy to lose track of time with storm alerts etc. This morning I just happened to look at my calendar with appointments on it, and discovered that I was an hour past a chiropractor appointment. I called, apologized, and rebooked for tomorrow. I sort of guessed from the tone of the receptionist that I was not the first to have forgotten. The house got tidied a little and I made mental notes of other things that need doing. It was getting warm so I headed to PJ's to do geek reading. It was a productive afternoon and I stopped at Popeye's on the way home. Their drive-up window was open again. (It wasn't for several days post-G.) Last night I half-wakened twice to the sound of crunching. That was no doubt Pogo, who doesn't hesitate to come in and help himself. As I said before, as long as he doesn't bother my cats or potty in an inappropriate place, what's a few more cat crunchies. I e-mailed the archivist at Newcomb and said I'd probably be in Wednesday. Apparently they had no water problems there, thank goodness. I need to get up fairly early tomorrow and get the trash up to the street. Fortunately, the guy doesn't usually come by till after 10 AM. Back to the book I'm reading as I watch TV. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
