Nothing Much

Saturday--and no lack for things to do--unless you count the lack of energy (or is it inclination?) to do them.

Did some household tidying, then headed for lunch and geek reading. And I got a satisfactory amount of that done. In fact, I finished the book I started what seems like forever ago. My next step will be to go over the notes I made and try to write up a condensed version of what it says. Can't recall the title at the moment, but it's about the disappearance of the goddess from religious thought.

The author is a religious historian and traces said disappearance from the Judeo-Christian heritage back into very early Mesopotamian history. If I ever get to teach again, I'll be integrating these tidbits into my lectures.

Now I need to go through my unread books and decide on another geek book to read.

Today was definitely on the "brisk" side. Not quite as cool as yesterday, but I had no trouble convincing myself that reading inside a heated building was vastly preferable to doing yard work.

The Saints don't play till Monday night, so there's no game tomorrow that I "need" to watch. And the weather-guessers suggest that tomorrow will be a bit warmer.

I wouldn't say that the sticker seeds around here are determined, but the cats are coming in with several on their fur. These generally end up on the floor and other places when they groom themselves, and then they leap onto my socks and slacks when I go by. (the seeds, not the cats)

About an hour ago I gave a bit of thought to doing groceries this evening. Then I remembered that Wal-Mart (which now closes at 7 PM) gets a LOT of people with the same idea. So I'll get there right after it opens tomorrow morning. After that I'll probably be inclined to yard work.

As I said--nothing much.
